Why and a big left turn

The greatest question ever asked is why.

The answer is because.

Those two statements wrap up over two thousand years of human existence for good or ill.

We are creatures driven by emotion and need.We need to feel safe and to be comforted as a whole people, but what happens when a few stray outside of that path and are truly independent of emotion or need? Those are the few that can do anything, they are the ones that see the needs of others and takes steps to provide it.They are seen as powerful and dangerous to the "normal people"so they are often shunned, outsized or castaway to restore the "norm".They are the shooting stars that streak across the sky in a blaze to burn out before us as we gaze in wonder.

Uh...ok.

You're not your wallet. You're not your fucking kahkis. You are not a beautiful or unique snowflake. We are the all-singing, all-dancing crap of the world.

There is no spoon.

One can find enlightenment in the darkest of hours and the highest of mountains. One need only look for the truth (which apparently is some kind of edge of a coin {yeah, right}).

Just what are you guys supposed to get from such generic, cryptic blah-blah? Yeah...I don't know either. If we're going to make a statement, make a statement instead of something transparent.

Seriously though...there isn't a human alive exempt from need or emotion. Hunger is a need. Thirst is a need. Sleep is a need. Powerful and dangerous isn't going to last long when you die of hunger or thirst. People seemingly bereft of joy or compassion or remorse still have indifference and coldness, and those count as emotions. To not have emotions would mean you're in a coma or are a rock.

So...rocks can do anything, and rocks see the needs of others and take steps to provide them. And yes, in actuality, that IS a rock you see streaking across the sky, as a chuck of rocky space debris falling through our atmosphere.

And now, an english lesson - focus: vocabulary. Jestful - to say something jokingly.

Apparently, there are rules on this Council:

1) The first rule of Council Chambers is: you do no talk about first names in Council Chambers.
2) The second rule of Council Chambers is: you DO NOT talk about first names in Council Chambers!
3) The third rule of Council Chambers is: you do not post topics that are a million years long and you get carpal-tunnel syndrome from scrolling through it.
4) Apparently, the fourth rule is against joking around and being sarcastic, or something along those lines...

Can you not take a joke? I give you the benefit of the doubt, Voice, because unlike some of the other members, you don't 'know' my deal; but my god man, I posted that I was joking, I said so right here!

(BTW, the vocab lesson above, as well as the rules, were jestful in nature. JESTFUL. JOKE. KIDDING. J-O-K-E.)

Does anyone follow "Everybody Loves Raymond"? Well, I think the finale of the show will show Amy getting pregnant and the father dying (Heather thinks so). What do YOU guys think?

Rodney Dangerfield died. He was 82 years old. I gotta tell ya, he was definitely one of the greatest comic geniuses of our time. It really sucks that he's gone. Rest in peace, Rodney...rest in peace.
